Mira Patel - Lake Buena Vista High School

Mira endeavors to treat everyone equally regardless of gender. She believes volunteerism provides opportunities to hear other people’s stories. Her numerous volunteer activities exemplify her dedication to the ideals of Martin Luther King, Jr. She volunteers in a variety of food drives, charity walks, and the Special Olympics.

Mira is a self-motivated junior and serves with the Key Club as well as Beta Club co-president, president of the junior class and member of the National Honor Society. She participates in a virtual exchange program with girls from the Middle East and Northern Africa, where she has learned much about the inequalities which exist around the world.

Mira’s favorite MLK quote highlights the value of peace: "The beauty of genuine brotherhood and peace is more precious than diamonds or silver or gold."

Future Goals: The University of Florida or Penn State are her choices for university. She wants to become an investment banker.
