Raida Nowreen - Cypress Creek High School

Treating everyone like an ally, Raida upholds King’s legacy by serving the community. It is important to her to continue to learn of Dr. King’s life, the civil rights movement and its impact on the world.

Raida loves to serve others and help to make a difference in the lives of others. She tutors, assists at COVID clinics and volunteers at Second Harvest Food Bank. She is an exemplary student and a member of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Asian Student Association, Beta Club, and model U.N.

Her passion for art as well as dedication to Dr. King’s legacy of inclusiveness, equality, justice, peace, and respect for all has been rewarded with wins for her Black Lives Matter painting and Spreading the Dream essay. Raida’s favorite MLK quote is: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.”

Future Goals: Attend University of Florida to become a software engineer.
