Isabella Rivas Herrera- Lake Buena Vista High School

Isabella Rivas Herrera is an academically focused and successful student with outstanding integrity and tremendous ability.  Her admirable dedication to the community and serving others is seen through her volunteer time at the Second Harvest Food Bank, Keep Orlando Beautiful, Freedom Rides,  MLK Day of Service, and the Orange County Animal Shelter.  Isabella is very sensitive to the needs of others, especially those who feel victimized by racism.  Consequently she is a strong advocate and a change agent to get more people of color treated with kindness, dignity and respect.  When Isabella is not advocating, she might be seen mentoring in the Latino in Action organization (where she is President), helping teachers in the Beta/Key club or with the environmental club where they pick up trash and recycle. She is also a proud member of the National Honor Society where they have a strong focus on community service.  Isabella is most proud of her three sport athlete participation in Cross Country, Basketball and Track & Field along with her newest interest and talents as a member of Orchestra 6 Honors.
