Matthew Paul- University High School

Matthew Paul exemplifies strong leadership abilities as the team’s football captain and as a high achieving academic scholar.  Matthew is very into sports and his religion, and through them he tries to demonstrate traits of responsibility, commitment and teamwork.  He has successfully accomplished those goals by currently participating in several sports, including football, baseball, lacrosse, and weightlifting.  Then he intends to add more team sports in his life to include wrestling, volleyball, track and field, along with joining the senior class cabinet. Matthew is a great admirer of Dr.King and is of the opinion that Dr. King was a man of dignity, honesty, integrity, and much more. Matthew also shares his insight that “Dr. King was a man who believed that Jesus was his Lord and Savior”,  and that’s the reason that Dr. King was such a great man, is because he strived to be like Jesus. Matthew does not shy away from his beliefs nor the fact that he wants to build his life around the theories and behaviors of both Dr. King and Jesus. Matthew states that it is his responsibility to help as many people as possible, especially those who are less fortunate, and that will always be his life’s endeavor.
