Neighborhood and Community Summit Early Bird Special

We're happy to start our update with announcing our registration is now open for the 16th annual Neighborhood and Community Summit that will be held on Saturday, March 6. For the safety of participants, this year will be a virtual summit.

And even though it will be virtual, we still plan to bring together residents and community leaders to connect, learn and grow through this full day of online workshops, exhibitions and networking opportunities all focused on building strong, vibrant communities and organizations in our city.

Early-bird registration is only $10 until Friday, February 19.

For more information and to register, visit orlando.gov/summit.

COVID-19 Update

In the latest city’s effort to fight the impacts of the coronavirus, we want to share that two weeks ago Mayor Dyer received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. He received the vaccine to help his family, friends and every person in our community stay healthy and safe. The vaccine will prevent illness and deaths from the virus.

Getting the vaccine will also get us on a path toward spending time together as we used to and a return to family gatherings and holiday celebrations. At the same time, the vaccine will move our economy forward by ending the pandemic and helping businesses to return to normal operations.

We know that the vaccine distribution will take some time and that the State of Florida has prioritized residents 65 and older at this time. But we want to encourage every person in our community to be ready to get the vaccine as soon as it becomes available to you.

Items of Note

F#1 - West Lakes Partnership, Inc food distribution program

As we just talked about COVID, we're proud to highlight an item on today’s agenda that allows us to leverage federal CARES Act funds to support West Lakes Partnership’s food distribution program for low-income households that have been impacted by COVID-19.

With this funding, West Lakes will host six of its bi-monthly food distribution events and perform weekly food deliveries to seniors.

COVID-19 has impacted so many of our residents and we're grateful for our non-profit partners helping to fight hunger and support our residents in need.
