On August 14, 2020, The Florida League of Cities announced its election of officers for the 2020-2021 term and named Commissioner Tony Ortiz as its president. The Florida League of Cities provides members with tailored advocacy tools and training programs designed specifically for municipal officials.

Commissioner Tony Ortiz opened the first Seniors vs. Crime office in Orange County. This effective unit has allowed seniors to become involved in not only their own protection, but also that of their fellow citizens.

Gateway Orlando

Gateway Orlando is part of the Orlando Main Streets program. Started in 2008, it has been a significant part of District 2’s growth of businesses with economic and cultural impacts on the community.
