1. Salary

Additional money paid for college degree in Fire or EMS related field. AS, $50 per month; BS or higher, $110 per month.

2. Longevity Pay

5 to less than 10 years of service   $600 
10 to less than 15 years of service   $1,100 
15 to less than 20 years of service   $1,600 
20 to less than 22 years of service   $2,000 
22 years or more of service   $2,300

3. Vacation/Holidays

0 - 2 years   130 hours per year 
2 - 8 years   156 hours per year 
8 - 18 years   206 hours per year 
18 to retirement   250 hours per year 

Annually, firefighters receive 11 paid holidays and a Kelly Day (24 hours off duty) scheduled every eighth shift. Shift personnel receive 12 hours of straight time pay for each holiday. In addition, 2 Floating Kelly Days are also received.  

4. Educational Reimbursement 

Financial assistance, up to $1,800 annually, may be available for any employee who seeks to improve his or her job knowledge by participation in job-related educational courses while employed by the city. 

5. Pension

Retire at 68% of salary for 20 years of service or 85% of salary for 25 years of service. A 5% cost of living increase is provided every 3 years to those who retire with at least 20 years of service. A 5 year forward or back DROP is available.

6. Insurance Coverage

Life and health insurance available at 95% cost coverage for employee. Optional dental and vision insurance also available. Dependent coverage is available.
