This five-week course in Creole aims to foster relationships between the police department and the community in a classroom environment. The following topics will be covered in this year's citizen's academy:
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Center Operations
- Police Training Simulator Demo
- Overview of Specialized Units like SWAT, Motors, and K-9
- DUI investigations
- And more
Classes begin on September 26 and will be held weekly every Thursday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. at Orlando Police Headquarters, located at 1250 West South Street.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Please be advised this is a free course, so seating is limited and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
