Do you have something too large to fit in your trash cart?
The city will pick up some furniture, appliances, and other large items for free on yard waste day, without the need to schedule.
Items that can be loaded by hand - Free: The city will pick up some items for free, as long as they can be loaded by hand into the truck. We will pick up two of these items for free.
Big and heavy items - Cost varies: Some larger items will be too big or heavy to load by hand and will need a claw truck to pick them up. The cost will depend on the type and amount of items you're throwing away. We will let you know if you need to call us to schedule the claw truck.
You can put up to two large items on the curb on yard waste day for free pickup. Check which day of the week we pick up your yard waste.
Find Your Yard Waste Day
The city will pick up two of the following for free:
Appliances: Standard household refrigerators, dishwashers, or clothes washers and dryers.
Furniture: Sofas, chairs, dressers, TV consoles, or similar items.
Other household items: Toilets, sinks, or other items that can be loaded onto the truck by hand.
If you have many items that would need multiple trips, you can request a dumpster or use a dumpster bag that we can pick up.
Place these items at the edge of your property before the curb.
Do not block the street, sidewalk, mailboxes, trees, poles, fire hydrants, storm drains or overhead utilities. Keeping these areas clear will help us reach the large items. Remove all doors from refrigerators and freezers before placing the items on the curb to make sure children do not become trapped inside the appliances.
We'll come on your yard waste day to pick up your large items. There's no need to schedule the pickup ahead of time.
If the items are too big or heavy and cannot be safely loaded into the truck, we will let you know so you can schedule a pickup by calling 407.246.2314.
If we miss the pickup, please report the missed pickup online or call 407.246.2314.
